چکیده

Traditionally, the process of turning data into biomedical knowledge has involved "manual" meta-analyses of results reported in journals. Since the amount of scientific data produced in neuroscience today increases dramatically, the resultant expansion of the medical databases has created a significant potential for the design of new data modeling and information retrieval tools and services that enable faster data processing, analysis and dissemination among a highly interdisciplinary community of researchers.

Neuroinformatics Literature System Oriented to Knowledge Discovery: Design and Preliminary Implementation

Neuroscience research has brought on enormous amounts of diverse data, this has led to the difficulty for the neuroscientists to grasp all userful information and conduct the comprehensive brain research independently. In addition, many barriers exist to the querying of multiple databases, including mismatches in query language, access mechanisms, data models and semantic deduction. In order to...

Global neuroinformatics: the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility.

There is a growing awareness in the neuroscience community of the need for databases extending from genes to cognition and disease mechanisms. Such databases are important for data sharing as well as for modeling and use of computational tools at different levels. The development of this area, neuroinformatics, would benefit from a major concerted action. For this reason 12 member countries of ...

Evolving connectionist systems for adaptive learning and knowledge discovery: Trends and directions

This paper follows the 25 years of development of methods and systems for knowledge-based neural network systems and more specifically the recent evolving connectionist systems (ECOS). ECOS combine the adaptive/evolving learning ability of neural networks and the approximate reasoning and linguistically meaningful explanation features of symbolic representation, such as fuzzy rules. This review...

Designing an Ontology for Knowledge Discovery in Iran’s Vaccine

Ontology is a requirement engineering product and the key to knowledge discovery. It includes the terminology to describe a set of facts, assumptions, and relations with which the detailed meanings of vocabularies among communities can be determined. This is a qualitative content analysis research. This study has made use of ontology for the first time to discover the knowledge of vaccine in Ir...

LOGOS: A Computational Framework for Neuroinformatics Research

Neuroinformatics presents a great challenge to the computer science community. Quantities of data currently range up to multiple-petabyte levels. The data itself are diverse, including scalar, vector (from 1 to 4 dimensions), volumetric (up to 4 dimensional spatio-temporal), topological, and symbolic, structured knowledge. Spatial scales range from Angstroms to meters, while temporal scales go ...
